It is the first restaurant in UK to be certified by the AVPN (Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana). The pizza is mega and the ambiance authentic. Prices around £10 a pie.

Charlies Bistro - Charlies is a wonderful seaside restaurant. Very good for a quick coffee on your way out sightseeing. I can personally recomend their Sunday roast but book ASAP. The Thursday night tapas is very nice and fun if not super authentic. It's our local and we support it!

Inn

One of the most down to earth pubs in Herne Bay. Super traditional, not tarted up at all. Read the tourist info board on the side wall closest to the flat, fascinating history.

About 20 mins walk up the beach to the left of the Pier. Try to get there for sunset as the westward windows overlook the beach toward Whitstable and the views can be awesome.

Takeaways

Fish Inn 2 - Fresh chips. Can be less busy than on the seafront in season. Also a very nice paprika/chili shake to put on your chips if you are that way inclined.

The site of a Roman fort. It's about a 4 mile walk from the loft either along the cliff or along the beach (at low tide). There's a nice little cafe there too to fortify you for the walk home. It’s also possible to take the bus one way if you want a shorter stroll. See here for more details https://bustimes.org/services/36-herne-bay-birchington-margate-qeqm-hospital
