A place where you get to select your own seafood and other assortments of fresh poultry and meat. You also have the selection to purchase the vegetables you want to eat along with your main course.
What I love about this market is after you are done purchasing fresh local products, you then take it all upstairs where their are 15-20 stalls who will prepare your selection for you. Keep in mind that every stall has their own unique method and styles they use to cook the product. The combination is endless and you are only limited by your imagination.
Lastly the market also sells fresh local fruits, perfect to take back to your accommodation or the beach for your enjoyment. Local spices are also sold here if you enjoy cooking yourself.

The closest beach to the accommodation, Kamala beach is approximately 2.5km away. The best way to get their is on a scooter, the shuttle bus or taxi.
The beach stretch 3km with plenty of real estate to plant your towels. During the months of November - April the water is very calm and quite pleasurable for a relaxing swim. During the monsoon season the north end of Kamala is filled with local and international surfers both beginner to advance level.
Their are also water activities you can do here such as:
- Banana boat
- Long Boat to neighboring island or beaches
- Jet Ski's
- Parasailing
- Stand up paddle boarding (SUP)
- Surfing (When their is waves)
- Kayaking

The waters here are generally beautiful most of the year round. It can get quite busy during the high season though so be prepared for big crowds.
Definitely worth a look if you have your own transportation or passing through.
