This park is next to the house and formerly known as Lake Cane Marsha Park, this Orange County oasis safeguards a biologically-rich remnant of the Lake Wales Ridge. Despite being surrounded by urban development, a diverse array of habitats awaits you, including rosemary scrub, longleaf pine forest, xeric oak scrub, wetlands, and four ponds. The northern section of the park offers the most productive birding, especially the foot trails between Lupine Pond and Woodland Pond. Look for Blue-Headed Vireo, House Wren, and Eastern Phoebe in winter, plus Yellow-throated Warbler and Indigo Bunting all year. Limpkins can be seen on the ponds; Glossy Ibis and American Bittern (winter) turn up here on occasion as well. Wood Duck, Hooded Merganser and Mottled Duck may also be present on the ponds. Check overhead from time to time for Osprey and Cooper’s Hawk – both nest inside the park. A paved walkway and a separate, unpaved foot path span most of the park’s perimeter. Don’t miss the foot trails through the rosemary scrub – a number of rare plants such as Scrub Lupine grow here. The oaks can be good during migration – check for Magnolia Warbler, Ovenbird, Eastern Wood-Pewee and Baltimore Oriole. This is a good spot for families.

This park is 5 min drive, and you can spend the entire day there: have a family picnic, reserve the outdoor space for any event, make your own BBQ, and more. This park has tons of activities as well as children's playgrounds. Bill Frederick Park covers 183 acres of land alongside Turkey Lake, one of the top-five rated fishing lakes in the state of Florida. Nestled within the heart of Orlando, just minutes from large attractions like Universal Studios, lies Bill Frederick Park At Turkey Lake, an oasis for those looking to get away from the crowds of tourists and theme park visitors. After a stop at the ranger station and payment of the $4 day use fee, visitors are greeted with 183 acres of lakeside scenery, picnic areas, a campground, fishing piers, nature trails, and even a children's farm! The picnic area of the park is spacious and surrounded by lush greenery. Visitors can set up for the day in rental pavilions that overlook the lake, complete with picnic tables and grills. A playground and restroom are located nearby, as well as a disc golf course that winds throughout the park. Continuing on past the picnic area of the park, either via road or one of the park's nature trails, leads to the camping area. Here, there are air-conditioned cabins, full hook up RV slots, and primitive tent spaces all available for rent - the perfect alternative to the area's many theme park hotels. During the day, keep an eye out for tortoise visitors; the whole camping area is surrounded by endangered gopher tortoise habitat! Visitors can explore this important ecosystem by either nature trail or the bike loop. Of course, what the lake is most famous for is its world-renowned bass fishing. The park was featured in Bassmaster and ESPN's "Casting Crew," and permitted anglers can even rent aluminum bass boats at the park marina for $32 a day. Fishing piers are also constructed in various locations around the lake, and all are easily accessible. As always, remember your valid fishing license, and make sure to clean up your gear! WELCOME TO OUR NEIGHBORHOOD.

The house is located in Doctor Phillips's neighborhood: close to the theme parks of Universal Orlando Resort, the affluent Doctor Phillips suburb is defined by its elegant estates and golf courses. Sand Lake Road has luxury spas, fitness studios and shops. A stretch known as Restaurant Row offers a wide range of cuisines, including Hawaiian-Japanese fusion, traditional Turkish and upscale Italian. The nearby Mall at Millenia is the place to go for designer wares. Doctor Phillips, Florida is a place name that almost all Orlando citizens recognize, but many people in the rest of Florida have never heard of. Only a generation ago, Doctor Phillips was a lonely outpost among the orange groves southwest of Orlando at the intersection of Sand Lake Road with Apopka-Vineland Road. Most people knew that Doctor Phillips was named after a man, but didn't know much about the man. When construction began on Walt Disney World in the late 1960s, the area was still orange groves and wetlands. During the construction of Walt Disney World, a group of Disney workers labored in Doctor Phillips's old citrus packing plant in fastening the artificial leaves onto the artificial limbs of the Swiss Family Robinson tree. That was about the only game in town back then. It was clever use of a large building that was no longer being used. Now the unincorporated area around Doctor Phillips is as big as many Florida towns, with a population of about 10,000. It is on the edge of Universal Studios Florida, and enjoys quick access via Sand Lake Road to I-4 and International Drive. It is a modern place, with beautiful shopping malls, plenty of great restaurants and is surrounded by upscale residential communities. The entire area from Apopka-Vineland Road east to I-4 is now called "Restaurant Row" by locals. The sprawling upscale neighborhoods in this area have no trouble supporting their local Whole Foods and Trader Joes along with the familiar Publix brand. The area is named for Dr. Philip Phillips, an early big-time Central Florida citrus grower. Dr. Phillips was born in 1874 and died in 1959. He had a medical degree from Columbia University, and at one point owned more than 5,000 acres of citrus groves around Orlando. Dr. Phillips developed many successful techniques for the processing and packaging of orange juice. His thousands of acres of groves stretched across nine Central Florida counties. His land in the area now known as Dr. Phillips extended from Conroy Road on the north to the south end of the Sand Lake Chain of Lakes. His holdings included what is now Arnold Palmer's Bay Hill Country Club, Orange Tree, Sand Lake Hills and Turkey Lake. After he sold his groves in 1953, he became a benevolent philanthropist. His donations are still enjoyed and appreciated by Orlando area residents. You can also enjoy a performance at the nearby Doctor Phillips Center for the Performing Arts that opened in downtown Orlando in 2014.

Improv Comedy Club THE IMPROV. 40 YEARS. MILLIONS OF LAUGHS. The History Improv Comedy Club and Dinner Theatre has been the career launching pad for dozens of the familiar faces of television and film for 40 years. Before becoming a cast member on NBC’s ‘Saturday Night Live,’ David Spade was a “local comedian” at the Improv in Tempe, Arizona, hosting shows regularly. Bette Midler was a cocktail waitress at the Improv in New York, where she was given the opportunity to exhibit her vocal talents. Other Improv alumni include Lily Tomlin, Robin Williams, Jonathan Winters, Adam Sandler, Jerry Seinfeld, Drew Carey and the list goes on. Today, the Improv continues to showcase performers well on their way to join the ranks of the Improv’s famous veterans. The Improv is proud to announce the highly anticipated return to the Orlando market! We will be welcoming the biggest names in comedy to our stage as well as supporting our local talent here in Central Florida!

Pointe Orlando is an all-in-one dining, nightlife and shopping complex located just off the busy International Drive, a short drive from Disney, Universal, and SeaWorld. The charming array of shops, bars and restaurants are set around a pretty landscaped garden complete with palm trees and fountains, making this a tranquil place to hang out both in the day and at night. The emphasis in the daytime is inevitably more on shopping and dining. While crowds are still drawn to the restaurants, Pointe Orlando really comes alive after dark with its impressive IMAX movie theater complex, live music bars and famous Improv Comedy Club. Nightlife at Pointe Orlando If you’re coming for a drink, there are a few main venues to look out for at Pointe Orlando. B.B King’s Blues Bar is a fun spot to hit up on weekends for their live bands (a cover charge of $5-10 normally applies). The Pub is a British-style boozer that mixes things up with American comfort food, while Blue Martini goes more traditional, with a sophisticated layout and impressive menu of cocktails. The famous Improv Comedy Club promises a night of adult-only laughs. Since opening some 40 years ago, this club has been heralded as a launching pad for the careers of dozens of famous comedians, such as the late Robin Williams, Adam Sandler, Jerry Seinfeld, and Drew Carey. Dining at Point Orlando Most of the restaurants at Pointe Orlando open for lunch (around midday), and continue serving throughout the day until 9pm or 10pm. Considering the size of the place, the range of cuisine here is undeniably impressive. Look out for Copper Canyon Grill, Marlow’s Tavern or the Capital Grille for some casual, no-nonsense dining. Head to the more upscale Itta Bena, a speakeasy-style fine-dining restaurant that focuses on refined Southern classics with a creative touch from the chef. More restaurants further diversifying the dining scene at Pointe Orlando are The Oceanaire (seafood), Taverna Opa (Greek) and Maggiano’s Little Italy (Italian). Things to do at Pointe Orlando Eating and drinking aren’t the only reasons Pointe Orlando is worth an afternoon or evening of your time. The onsite Regal Movie theaters has a range of standard screens as well as Central Florida’s largest IMAX Theatre. Another family-favorite attraction is WonderWorks, an indoor amusement park with over 100 exhibits, rides and games for the kids, all set in a building modeled to look like an upside-down house. For shopping, it must be said that the range of stores here is easily dwarfed by the nearby outlet stores on International Drive, but you’ll find a few familiar designer names such as Tommy Hilfiger, Victoria’s Secret and Hollister. Content Downtown Orlando is packed full of nightlife options, from quaint hole-in-the-wall bars that serve a mix of regulars and tourists to giant live music arenas and all-out nightclubs. Most of the nightlife options on Downtown Orlando are centered on the buzzing Orange Avenue and Church Street, though plenty of establishments are spread out for a few blocks in every direction. Downtown Orlando bars and clubs certainly have a less commercial feel to them when compared with nightlife in Disney World and Universal. Of course, that doesn’t mean that you find find a few theme park tourists passing through, mixing with the city’s locals and some university students. It certainly makes for an interesting and varied crowd! 9 Best Nightlife in Downtown Orlando What to Do at Night in Downtown Orlando Wall Street Plaza Wall Street Plaza – right in the heart of Downtown – offers a more ‘local’ experience compared to other nightlife areas in Orlando. This entertainment complex promises a fun mix of laidback restaurants, lively bars, and all-out nightclubs. Head to Hooch for their happy hour (4pm to 7pm) and alfresco setting, Monkey Bar for cheap and delicious martinis, Sideshow for feel-good American food and live sports, and end your night at Shine, a cheesy yet hugely popular nightclub. Location: 25 Wall St, Orlando, FL 32801, USA Phone: +1 407-849-0471 Aero Rooftop Bar & Lounge Aero Rooftop Bar & Lounge, a hugely popular downtown spot, feels more like an outdoor nightclub than a chilled-out rooftop bar. You’ll certainly get that impression if you arrive close to midnight on a weekend, as DJs fill the terrace with commercial dance tunes and neon lasers are projected into the night sky. Aero’s party atmosphere is helped in no small part by some rather thrifty drinks promos, such as $3.50 "you call its" until 11 (any drink for the same price) and hourly 2-4-1 shots. A few sofas and tables can be found around the edge. There's no cover charge for Aero Rooftop Bar & Lounge. Location: 60 N Orange Ave, Orlando, FL 32801, USA Open: Thursday from 10pm to 2am, Friday–Saturday from 9pm to 2am, Sunday from 5pm to 11.30pm (closed from Mondays to Wednesdays) Phone: +1 321-245-7730 Hanson’s Shoe Repair Speakeasy Bar For cocktails, Hanson’s Shoe Repair is about as unique a place as you’ll find in Orlando. This former cobbler’s shop turned speakeasy rooftop bar has only a dozen or so seats and standing space for perhaps 20 more. Take your spot at the dilapidated main bar to chew the fat with the bartender, or head outside to the slightly more modern (but still as compact) rooftop terrace to catch a live band or movie screening. Be sure to explore Hanson’s impressive cocktail menu – it’s rated as one of the best in the city. Location: 27 E Pine St, Orlando, FL 32801, USA Open: Monday–Thursday and Saturday from 8pm to 2am, Friday from 5pm to 2am, Sunday from 3pm to 2am Phone: +1 407-476-9446 EVE Nightclub EVE Orlando has a main clubroom upstairs that goes big on style, both in terms of décor and the crowd it seems to attract. The giant glass chandelier above the dance floor is the focal point, while an LED wall, TV screens, and many VIP booths add to the appeal. There’s a cool 400-sq-ft balcony overlooking the busy Orange Avenue below – one of the most popular nightlife streets in town – while an equally stylish lounge downstairs plays more laid-back house music compared to the dance anthems in the main EVE room. Location: 110 S Orange Ave, Orlando, FL 32801, USA Open: Monday from 10pm to 2am, Wednesday from 9pm to 2am, Thursday from 10pm to 2am, Friday–Saturday from 10pm to 2.30am, Sunday from 7pm to 1am (closed on Tuesdays) Phone: +1 407-602-7462 The Beacham The Beacham is a bit of a nightlife institution in Orlando, well-known for throwing huge parties and welcoming live bands and DJs who pack out the enormous venue. Set in a converted old theatre on North Orange Avenue, the main room is equipped with a state-of-the-art sound system and lighting, with the main stage having welcomed the likes of 50 Cent, Flo Rider, Paul Oakenfold, Tiesto and David Guetta. Drinks promos and themed events run every week. Just be sure to check out their website or Facebook before your visit to see what's going on. Location: 46 N Orange Ave, Orlando, FL 32801, USA Open: Monday–Thursday from 10am to 5pm, Friday and Sunday from 10am to 2.30am, Saturday from 5pm to 2.30am Phone: +1 407-648-8363 Amway Center Amway Center is home to Orlando’s 3 major sports teams: the Orlando Magic of the NBA, the Orlando Predators of the Arena Soccer League, and the Orlando Solar Bears of the ECHL (ice hockey). Opened in 2010, seating arrangements and the floor plan at this multi-purpose venue can be transformed from a live music hall into a basketball court, ice hockey rink and an indoor soccer pitch. Not surprisingly, it’s the Orlando Magic (who play in the NBA) that normally packs out the Amway Center when they play their home games. Locals and tourists flock to the 20,000-capacity stadium for a chance to watch some of the biggest basketball stars in the world in action. Location: 400 W Church St #200, Orlando, FL 32801, USA Phone: +1 407-440-7900 The Attic Orlando The Attic is one of the many top night spots located around the Church Street and Lake Eola Park area of Downtown. The large club follows the 3-in-1 concept of most other places nearby, with a bar area, VIP lounge and main club room. Attic welcomes local DJs and the occasional international name, and one thing you can be certain of is that it’ll be back-to-back EDM anthems all night long. There’s a definite VIP vibe throughout the club, attracting a young, dressed-up crowd on weekends. The interior goes for the more underground, industrial look with a nice mix of exposed brick walls behind the DJ booth and a wooden slate-covered dance floor. Location: 68 E Pine St, Orlando, FL 32801, USA Open: Thursday–Saturday from 10pm to 2am (closed from Sundays to Wednesdays) Phone: +1 407-403-1161 TIER Nightclub TIER is one of the leading nightclubs in Orlando for electronic dance music and is located near a cluster of similar venues a block or so away from Lake Eola Park in Downtown. The emphasis here is really is on the live DJs, with the whole club focusing on the central DJ booth. The compact dance floor at the front is surrounded by a few booths, and there’s also an upstairs level providing more dancing space and a few more VIP booths. To get the full TIER experience, its best to head here around midnight on a weekend night. Location: 20 E Central Blvd, Orlando, FL 32801, USA Open: Tuesday–Sunday from 10.30pm to 2.30am (closed on Mondays) Phone: +1 407-222-9732 One80 Skytop Lounge One80 Skytop Lounge is a see-and-be-seen kind of place – undeniably stylish and glamorous, but with prices to match. The good news, however, is that unlike many of Orlando’s other rooftop bars, there are actually some impressive views to be had across the Downtown area, which can be enjoyed from a range of comfy seating both inside and out. Do watch out for the crowds of basketball fans heading up to the lounge after the Magic games finish in the arena below, normally every other week.
