As a local resident of Katy, TX, we find ourselves visiting Galveston frequently. It's a perfect day trip for us. It's kind of become a tradition for our family that everytime we go, we have to just walk The Strand where you can enjoy your beverage of choice while doing some shopping and site seeing.

The Galleria is our largest and most high-end indoor shopping mall full of designer stores. There are plenty of food options there ranging from food court/sit down restaurants around a large indoor skating rink to fine dining, all within a mile radius of Uptown Park
