A classic Gardenesque Style estate on a promontory overlook the Mediterranean. The site is dramatic and the plant collection exotic. The garden was made by an English family (the Hanburys) and is best understood as a coastal woodland garden of a type which is common in the Cornwall. It is very popular with plant-loving gardeners. The Calandre beach is a narrow and long beach composed mainly of fine golden sand located near the apartment. The beach is accessible via a path that starts from the Forte dell Annunziata and crosses the typical Mediterranean vegetation all the way down to the beach. The seabed is shallow and slopes gently. At the beach there is a small cafe that serves snacks, drinks and ice-cream, showers and toilets facilities.

City/town information

Dolceacqua is a lovely village nestled in the hills of Val Nervia, and is one of the gems of the Italian Riviera, just minutes from the sea and the nearby French Riviera. With ancient stone houses on narrow paved alleys, an attractive humpback bridge over a scenic river and a castle overlooking the village Dolceacqua makes an enjoyable excursion from the Riviera di Ponente and the busy Ligurian coast. Dolceacqua is also known for the olives which are grown in abundance in the region, the locally grown flowers, and a decent red wine called Rossese produced from grapes grown in the surrounding hills. Highly recommend to visit the Doria Castle and explore the small shops and restaurant around this beautiful town.
