Within walking distance from Cline Cabin and the home of Working Girl wines. A family friendly outdoor summer concert series supports local non-profits, check their events page to see who's playing and get tickets. Fun Fact, the big barn used to be a dance hall for local teens in the 70's.

A winery in a former logging truck shop, right next door to a kayak and mountain bike guide service and rental place (Adventures Through Kayaking). Doesn't get any more PNW than that!

Sightseeing

Perfect for a cool swim on a hot summer day, hikes and simply being stunned by scenery. Insider tips: Bovee Meadows (locals call it Barnes Cove) is a good swimming beach that's also close to the iconic Marymere Falls dayhike, and there are new places to park/swim along East Beach Road also. Finally, the Spruce Railroad Trail is accessible whether you're walking, wheelchairing or bicycling and it has TWO COOL TUNNELS (bring a flashlight, one is quite long) and swimming holes.

This is the longest natural sandspit in the US, a short hike through the woods gets you on the spit, if you're feeling ambitious, it's an 11 mile roundtrip hike along a beach out to the New Dungeness Lighthouse and back. There's a small museum, and you can go inside the lighthouse and climb the spiral staircase to the top. There's no place like it.

Deer Park is the closest entrance to Olympic National Park from Cline Cabin. Head towards the Olympics on O'Brien road, take right on Township Line road, then a left on Deer Park Road. The last 8 miles to the top are gravel, steep and very curvy. There's a campground at the top, plus stunning views of the Straits of Juan De Fuca and the Olympic Mountains. A short scenic hike is Ran Shadow Loop, a half mile that encircles Blue Mountain. This road is usually closed by Olympic National Park in the winter, so check before you head up.

If you only have one day to experience the Olympic Mountains, this is your drive. Sweeping views, plenty of viewpoints and easily accessible hikes, plus access to longer wilderness adventures. Keep an eye peeled for deer, marmots, mountain goats and bears. Sometimes, if the cloud cover is really low, a trip to Hurricane Ridge will get you up above the clouds and into the sunshine. Wildflower season is late July through September. In the winter, check out Hurricane Ridge Ski Area, one of the few remaining ski hills inside a National Park. Free ranger led snowshoe trips are also a wintertime must-do.

Food scene

Waterfront beer and pizza place in downtown PA - borrow the growler on my kitchen counter down and fill it up with Citrasonic - an IPA that will warm any Seattle Supersonics fan's heart. Indoor and outdoor seating, family friendly, and reasonably priced. The pizza is some of the best on the Peninsula. Indoor and outdoor seating, family friendly, and you can watch the action in the PA harbor.

A guest was looking for fresh crab - this is the place! Also oysters, steamer clams and the best clam chowder around! Casual, fun place for un-fussy fresh seafood.

A restaurant inside a 1920's bungalow, with indoor, and plentiful outdoor seating. They cook most of their fare over flame and it's all smoky deliciousness. They have cozy blankets over their chairs so you can eat outside there even on chilly days if you'd like. Moderately priced and worth it. The big kitty hanging around outside is Scotty. Scotty is a she.

Killer locally sourced food, fun atmosphere, always PACKED, great beers and cocktails, indoor and outdoor seating. They don't take reservations, the trick to getting a table and avoiding the long line out the door is to call (360) 504-2613 and get on their list, then arrive when they say to! Their burgers are delicious and innovative and they have a sharing menu (mmmm poutine!) and great seafood as well.

Taproom

Rotating taps of NW brews, a friendly vibe and lots of cool vintage beer signs. Covered outdoor seating welcomes doggos and say hi to Mary - she pulls the pints there and she's a lovely human. 21 and over.
