Food scene

The epicenter of San Diego’s party scene, the lively Gaslamp Quarter offers much more than just pulsating nightlife. The charming downtown neighborhood is also rich with cultural museums, art galleries, concert venues, and symphony halls, plus loads of lovely alfresco eateries. But back to the nightlife: Clubs, dive bars, and cocktail lounges draw the university crowd, while diverse audiences fill the Spreckels and Balboa theaters for performing arts, comedy shows, and live music.

Great place for seafood. Love the concept - all sorts of fish and you can choose how it's cooked, the marinade, and the style (sandwich, taco, plate, etc). Plus on Thursdays they have oyster happy hour - $1.25 from 4pm until they run out. This was really the draw card for me. Love an oyster happy hour. Service was great, very friendly and helpful.

The food was delicious and well made. In addition to the steak, we had the ahi tacos, the noble garden salad, linguine bolognese, spaetzle, key lime pie, chocolate ganache, and crème brûlée, and a plethora of drinks.

What an awesome place! Cooking class !Another secret place that doesn't have 'tourist' written all over it. Loved the Opah and the grilled oysters. The other items were delicious too but these 2 items really stood out. Locally caught sustainable fish and almost everything made from scratch. Beautiful view especially for romantic sunset dining!

The best place to sit outside and enjoy great food and look at the water. On a beautiful San Diego day. This place delivers 7 days a week when it comes to delicious food, fresh fish, a fun atmosphere, and excellent service. But on Mondays, they have a happy hour deal that runs all day long. Let me say it again, their happy hour runs all day long on Mondays- $6 drinks (including Ketch crafted brews- yum), $6 apps. I want to honorably mention the delicious buffalo cauliflower app. I frequent this happy hour just to grab a beer and the cauliflower dish- all for less than $15. Enjoy a glass of cheer and relax looking at this water Not including good service here too

pecialties Sprawling Polynesian eatery known for its mai tai cocktails, seafood dishes & enchanting bay views. We also offer three private banquet rooms and a bay front ceremony site for weddings. History Established in 1955. Locals and visitors flock to San Diego's iconic Bali Hai Restaurant for its beautiful views and distinctive Pacific Rim style menu. The landmark restaurant, located on the northern tip of Shelter Island, is a chic, sleek Polynesian paradise opened in 1955 by San Diego restaurateur Tom Ham. Bali Hai was the island's first "tiki temple," named after the song popularized by the musical "South Pacific," and remains one of the largest remaining original tiki temples. Family owned and operated for over five decades, Ham's vision continues through his daughter Susie Baumann and her husband Larry, and sons Grant, Andy and Tommy. The service was great, our server was friendly and accommodating. The views of the San Diego bay and skyline are top-tier.
