One of our favourite places to go is Lola's. We love that they have free soda water on tap and love the funky decor. We love this place so much that this is where we had our wedding reception. Duck down to the Cullen Bay beach for a spectacular sunset while you're in the area.

Best places to see sunsets

Head down to Cullen Bay and bring a picnic blanket and a drink. Set up on the lawn, grab some fish and chips and watch the sun set over the horizon!

If you are in Darwin between April - October you must go to the Mindil Beach Markets. These are held on a Thursday and Sunday. They get PACKED! Make sure you get there early for a feed and to clap the sun setting. Mindil is only a couple of kms from our place. You can walk or it's a short uber

Consejos para la ciudad

Cómo moverse

Everything in Darwin is max 20mins away

We are about 2kms from the CBD, so you can walk, Uber, drive or catch public transport quite easily. We also have two bicycles you can use during your stay. We include locks and helmets. In the city and nearby areas there are also e-bikes and e-scooters. To use these you will need to download the Neuron App onto your phone and set up an account. If you want to leave the city and head out to Nightcliff, you're probably looking at about $20-$30 in an uber. Out to Palmerston is more. If you want to go exploring, it would be worth getting a hire car or going with a tour.

Don't swim at the beaches

The beaches are beautiful in Darwin. However, don't let them fool you! We do get crocodiles on the beaches and during certain times of the year we also have stingers. If you want to swim safely, there are public pools or go down to the Darwin Waterfront.
