A nice hike up to a beautiful view of the Lake Austin portion of the Colorado River. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets. I once watched the space shuttle chase the international space station across the sky from this vantage point :)

It’s hard to believe something so beautiful is located minutes from downtown, with the Trail Head near Barton Springs Pool. There are multiple greenbelts in Austin, but the Barton Creek Greenbelt is so beloved that locals commonly refer to it as “the Greenbelt,” as if it were the only one. Located in south-central Austin, the Barton Creek Greenbelt contains 12.68 miles of gorgeous trails, with the main trail spanning about 7 miles. This particular greenbelt is considered one of the top hiking trails in Texas. But this area is not only for hiking. One of the city’s most prized attractions, the Barton Creek Greenbelt is filled with mountain biking trails and beautiful limestone bluffs for rock climbing. And when there’s enough water in the creek, there are several swimming holes locals like to enjoy.

Ascend Austin's one-of-a-kind Castle Hill graffiti park before it goes away... The Austin Chronicle described it as, "HOPE Outdoor Gallery, located in Central Austin at Castle Hill on Baylor Street, might be the coolest and most successful public arts project in Texas. What makes the mural so special is that it’s participatory. The multi-level graffiti park was launched in 2011 by the Austin-based nonprofit HOPE and with the help of famed street artist Shepard Fairey (you’ve seen his work: the “Hope” Obama poster and Andre the Giant icons).
