There are wonderful trails through the jungle on this massive volcano where you'll see sulphuric hot pots and loads of beautiful scenery and wildlife. Keep an eye out for the leaf cutter ants marching in line throughout the entire jungle! It's beautiful in the rain and there is a lot to offer at this park. There are also trails suitable for children and elderly, but it is not wheelchair accessible.

This immense waterfall is the perfect hidden getaway! You'll hike down a short, but gorgeous flight of stone stairs and be blown away by the clear pool at the foot of the waterfall. The water temperature is perfect and the pool remains shallow for a good amount of space. You can crawl behind the waterfall, paddle around, sun bathe, & spend all day at this tucked away paradise - at least between 8 and 5. It is located about 16 miles (25km) south of Liberia. The turnoff for the dirt road to the falls is marked by a wood white sign with red writing and you have to really watch for it. The dirt road will take you to a parking area. Admission to the falls is C1,000 and goes to the local school

This is an amazing restaurant tucked away on Playa Ocotal. The tables are spaced out and it has a completely relaxed vibe. It's right on the beach so it's a perfect place to enjoy some incredible food and drinks while you watch the sunset over the fishing boats in the bay.

This is a beautiful and intimate restaurant right off of the street. You can expect a somewhat pricier menu, but if you are ready to have your life changed order the mahi-mahi stuffed with hearts of palm and topped with shrimp! Absolutely incredible, and the owner is very friendly and hands on.

They also have liquor, pool noodles and water toys, and other little essentials. Please note that if you wear contact lenses, you'll want to pack your solution unless you're ready to track down a pharmacy in Liberia!
