Best tortas in town! Run by friends of mine, this mexican food + mezcal spot is a gem. Get a torta (sandwich) or bowl, and try the street corn.

Shopping

This shop is so beautiful - it will lift your spirits and inspire you immediately upon entry. My friend Amy runs it and she is a passionate nature lover, artist and visionary. Build a terrarium or create your own perfume or just get lost for a bit.

There's much more than clothes here at PALACE, and it is well-loved amongst Portland's artsy and crafty folks. A wonderful curated collection of things: clothes, books, body care and gift-ables.

Drinks & Nightlife

Catch a cheap flick with pizza and a drink at the Laurelhurst. It's such a fun theater, usually with kid-friendly matinees on weekends.

Parks & Nature

One of Portland's best close-in nature spots, and off the beaten path a little. Sauvie Island is a gorgeous spot with long Columbia River beach frontage. It is purely agricultural and residential, feels like you've left the city far behind. Kruger Farm has summer concerts, pumpkin picking, live music on weekends on the beer porch and a farm market. Check their website as things change with the seasons.
