We had an amazing day and won’t Mind going back in the future

The location is out of the way of our usual drive to the Suid-kaap, but with our baby boy we decided to do a stopover and drive through the valley. Can't believe we have not done it sooner. It's a piece of paradise. As heritage lover, the restoration work of the buildings on the farm are incredible, and there's an old mill with original parts. The cottage ('Old Barn') we stayed in, is so well maintained, cosy and kitted with everything you need. In the morning the chickens came to say 'hi' and we fed them some of the seeds that were provided in the cottage (they might have been meant for the birds, but the chicks were very convincing). Thank you for the lovely stay.

A perfect escape into the serene! This peaceful farm cabin near Calitzdorp is a hidden treasure. Waking up to birdsong and the stars dancing in the clear night sky - unmatched Klein Karoo magic. Had an amazing week-long second stay with my family at this amazing property. We came all the way from Oregon just to stay here again, and even my city-loving mother very much enjoyed the peaceful location and communing with nature. The stargazing was unsurpassed. Hosts went out of their way to make us feel at home. Highly recommend and hope to be back for a third time! Thanks a million for being hosts!

We really enjoyed our 4 night stay at the Kliphuis. We could switch off and relax from the moment we got there. The directions and self-checkin worked very well. The house had everything we needed, even an ice machine. As our host Jacques was not expecting any guests on the day of our departure, he offered that we could stay an extra night if we wanted to, and of course we did! It felt as if we were in the middle of nowhere, we did not see other people for our whole stay. Although the place is quite remote, its very safe and there is cellphone reception. The huge stoep with comfy coaches on wheels and one of them hanging, was such a highlight. We sat on the stoep almost the whole day enjoying nature, birdlife in/around the river below, and the amazing view of the starts at night. We were woken up by 4 owls on the stoep on our last morning, what a treat for birders. We were also fortunate that there was water in the river during a hot December.

We stayed one night in the Old School Cottage and then we extended our stay to one night in the Birds Nest Cottage. Altough the Old School Cottage had a very special flair, we preferred the Birds Nest, we thought it was more cosy. The location of both is great, we could enjoy a wonderful starry sky.

Thank you Narine for everything! This spot is absolutely GORGEOUS, we were completely in awe as we arrived during sunset and woke up to the first light touching the tips of the mountains, truly blown away by the beauty of this little gem of a place. The dam was extremely beautiful and refreshing to swim in even in the middle of winter! We will definitely be returning!

What a peaceful stay! We enjoyed its quiet location, surrounded by the beauty of nature, blessed with gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. The little touches like welcome port, homemade bread, rusks and filter coffee was so thoughtful of our host and made us feel right at home. This stay is ideal if you want to get away from the hustle of a busy town but still have access to wifi. Thank you for a wonderful and restful stay!
