For families there are child locks, stair gates, cot and high chair available upon request. Part of the downstairs is locked off for work space and will be in use through the day. East-Gate Selfcatering

East-Gate was built new in 2018 the property is located in central Shetland and beautifully finished. Outside the patio door takes you onto a decked area which you can sit out on for your morning cuppa or evening glass of wine or to simply take in the scenery . It has the latest air to air heating and air con. We are very lucky to have a hot spot for otter sighting on our door step just a short walk down the field. The sea views and coastal walks makes this an ideal tranquil location.

Traditional crofter's cottage in peaceful Unst

A traditional Shetland Crofter's cottage in Baliasta, Unst, Shetland. Close by to the Loch of Cliff, near to the local shops and leisure centre. We absolutely love our little spot and enjoy opening it up to our many well-travelled guests. The cottage is very cosy, has a wood burning stove, and a good-sized garden. Please be aware though, that it is a very old house and as such has some rustic quirks. While we are happy to accommodate children please be aware all beds are doubles.

Welcome to my beautiful cottage in Unst. The cottage has a lot of history behind it and used to be owned by the poet Jackie Renwick. It's a birdwatcher's paradise with two sycamore trees, bush cover and a wildlife pond. See below for a list of interesting birds. Birds of interest spotted in Cameron Cottage garden: Spotted flycatcher, pied flycatcher, redstart, yellow-browed warbler, barred warbler, water rail, snow bunting and tree sparrow.

The Peerie Neuk is a sustainably built tiny eco home with all the comforts of a cosy house just a bit tinier! There is a double bed and fold out sofa, suitable for one adult or two children. There’s is a small kitchen with hob, kettle and little fridge (large enough for two bottles of prosecco 🤣). There is a wood burning stove with oven. The oven will keep things warm. There’s on demand hot water, shower and compost toilet.

Big bay windows look out over the town's historic Hillhead - the perfect location for viewing the world-famous Up Helly Aa fire festival, as the spectacular torchlight evening procession starts from right outside, making this the ideal view point.

The main shopping street is only 1.6 mile from the property or the bus stop is only 250meters down the road from the property. There are beautiful beaches, many cafes & eateries, entertainments, museums and circular walks in Lerwick. Great central base for day trips into the countryside too.

Sound Lodge a Quiet Getaway with a Stunning View

The self-contained flat is situated at the North end of the main property, above the garage so please be aware that there is a staircase for easy access as it has its own entrance and hallway. You will have access to our own waterfront & jetty so if you have a kayak or small boat you're welcome to use the facility, the garage can be used for the drying area.
