I wish I could give more than 5 stars, but I can’t. We spent three days here and I honestly wish we could have stayed longer. This place was more than accommodation, it was an experience. It has everything! Beautiful views, more animals than you can pet, stunning hospitality. Farm animals, hiking trails, sting rays and nighttime kayaking in phosphorescence. The farm is only accessible through boat, but the mail bot provides a discounted fare and it’s worth it for the views on the way over. Thanks again to the amazing hospitality of Tira Ora, we felt so welcomed and taken care of in every aspect.

We had a beautifully relaxing and energising couple of days at Tira Ora. The hosts were super lovely, the place was full of rustic charm, animals and birds everywhere. The rooms were comfortable, home-cooked food was delicious, and the place so captivating, we were sorry to have to leave. Great for families, a real natural treat away from it all.

A really nice place to hang around. Geoff was extremely accommodating and responsive in communication and our request.

On what was a miserably wet day, I arrived at the motel around noon, hours before check-in time to find my room ready, and welcoming - the motel is basic, but totally fine for a night or two, with a lovely cafe and store just a few minutes walk

Great place to stay whilst you are journeying through new zealands south island. Cathy was very accomodating for our late checkin.

Very nice place to stay if you want your accommodation near Franz Joseph. I had booked my Heli ride so want to stay close for any reschedules. This motel is very good with very big washroom. Enjoyed my tea in the room

Enjoyed the quietness even with a f ull house of people staying. Well maintained and very clean with a very good kitchen. Need to bring food with you as not a town with restaurants and supermarket but being local it wasnt an issue. A good spot over winter with curling and iceskating facilities.

Cathy's place was perfect for our one night stay. She was kind enough to offer us an upgrade due to a cancellation, which we very much appreciated. The unit was very spacious, clean and very well equipped with everything we needed. It was well heated and the bed was very comfortable. We would recommend a stay at Cathy's place - it certainly met our expectations as a great place to relax after a full day of exploring.

Exactly like the pictures. Room was spotless and the view was beautiful. Would definitely recommend if you are in Queenstown!

Cathy’s Airbnb is lovely. Quiet, very comfortable and very well set up. We only stayed two nights but easily could’ve stayed longer, lots to see and do in this beautiful region. Easy to fix an easy “skillet supper” and breakfast . Loved sitting out on the front porch after we arrived, and watch the sunset. Bed is extremely comfortable made with soft linens and a cozy comforter which made for a very good night’s rest. I highly recommend Cathy’s Airbnb!

This motel was a great place to sleep after a long day of hiking near the glaciers. The space was clean and the beds comfortable. Cathy has done a nice job making updates with cozy new electric fireplaces and newer linens. It was very quiet, which made for a great night sleep away from Franz Josef. We had eaten in town before we arrived, but we saw another guest eat in using the available grill to cook dinner. Cathy was great at sharing information about the area ahead of time to make sure we were prepared for our stay!

This hostel was an amazing little getaway nestled in the mountains. The views were immaculate, and I enjoyed every second. Check-in was easy as there was staff waiting for me, and I had a room to myself, which was pleasantly surprising for the price. There was a great shared kitchen and common space. The only thing I would say would be to be careful of weather as 3 mile road to get there was gravel and looks like it could get difficult to traverse with extreme weather. Hope to get back here at some point!

This was our second time staying at Ao Marama. It is a peaceful, beautiful retreat. Rustic in many ways, but very accommodating. Highly recommend!

Lovely stay at Poolburn with Mark and the gang. Everyone was really friendly and we felt right at home. Mark is a fantastic cook! Great spot for exploring the area or just relaxing. You'll never get bored with resident dogs Bishop and Rook around. Will definitely be back for another stay!

Nice and quiet place for stopping by.

Henry made our stay a blissful experience! Because of plan changes due to weather conditions we ended up staying longer in Manapouri, thankfully were able to extend our stay with them twice for the self contained cabin. We felt at home, had great sunrise and sunset from our cabin, went for a run in the area and were able to explore Pearl Harbor on the circle track before going on Kepler Track. Ana and her partner were also very kind to us. Shower was perfect and the kitchen is fully equipped. We had a lot of luggage and had no issues with them in our cabin. Cannot recommend this place enough!

We had a great time staying here. Lots to do around the area (we went walking, cycling, 4WD, curling). Mark and the other people there were really friendly, and the option of also having food was great! Over the weekend had some local pork, venison and trout. We also took our dog, they were really accomodating. Nice to have a different kind of stay with host invested in the experience. Highly recommend!
