Lavender & Rust cottage

Lavender & Rust is a lovely self-catering house for 4 people with an old-world charm in Clarens. A minimum of two guests,no children under 8years. The double-storey house comprises 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen, and a cosy lounge. For comfort on colder days electric blankets, and heaters are provided in the bedrooms. Guests can relax in front of the cosy fireplace, and Wi-Fi access is available. The living area opens onto a stoep, and a Weber braai, as well as secure parking, is provided.

We are load shedding resistant with WiFi during the shedding but we have lovely candles and fireplaces for your entertainment… Bring a book, a journal or an easel and come and enjoy.

Beth and I left an international corporate lifestyle in 2016 to farm on our 300 hectare farm in the eastern Freestate.Jacobrust farm is a working farm in the foothills of the Clarens sandstone of the Maluti mountains .We farm with olives and plains game. Traditional farm animals include sheep,chickens,ducks,turkeys and our free roaming pot belly pig Charlotte. We live environmentally friendly early to bed early to rise lives .

Jemima Puddle Duck Cottage

Jemima, situated on the Schaapplaats Farm, is cute and rustic and ideal for a family willing to share one large bedroom. The famous Schaapplaats cave paintings (a national monument) are a 15 minute walk through enormous sandstone cliffs and crystal clear rock pools. Bird life is prolific and on a trail walk you can encounter game such as wildebeest, zebra, springbok, blesbok, and sometimes eland.
