The Artist synonymous with St Ives, Barbara Hepworth's one-time home and workshop, where she lived and worked from 1949 until her death in 1979 - can be found on the tiny lane of Barnoon Hill. The museum and gallery is small but perfectly formed but, in her own words 'magic'. The best bit is the verdant garden, laid out by Hepworth herself, dotted with monumental sculptures and snaking pathways. Another endearingly scruffy succulent-filled greenhouse is another highlight - an idyll away from the seasonal throng.

In the heart of St ives is the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden in St Ives, Cornwall preserves the 20th-century sculptor Barbara Hepworth's studio and garden much as they were when she lived and worked there. She purchased the site in 1949 and lived and worked there for 26 years until her death in a fire on the premises in 1975.
Awesome sculptures can be seen around town but also in Hepworth’s little house & garden. So worth a visit
