A beautiful park that is seemly open 24hrs a day. Farmers market on Saturday. Also swimming pool, ice skating, gym, outdoor track, and endless people watching.

It's rare to have a pool outside in NYC during the summer and highly coveted by all of us living or visiting here when the heat hits! Nearby McCarren Park hotel has an amazing one that you can purchase day passes (for reasonable prices too - hard to believe right??) and has amazing poolside drink and food service! Also be sure to check out the hotel's rooftop bar - another great spot to adventure and hang out at.

McCarren Park Pool is a large outdoor pool, one of eleven pools opened by Robert Moses in 1936. Open from June 27 till the end of August, it's free to all as long as you bring a bathing suit and a lock to put on your locker. There's a children's section, a large communal swimming area, and a section dedicated to lap swimming.
