Barr Trail is the trailhead for hikers who are climbing all, or part of, Pikes Peak.
This is the trail up Pike’s Peak. Start early, be prepared. It’s an all day endeavor for the experienced hiker.
A popular 26-miles heavily-trafficked out-and-back trail starting in Manitou Springs to the top of Pikes Peak. Recommended for experienced backcountry adventurers or those prepared for an overnight trip. Hike April through October. Bicycles and dogs on leash are okay. This is the same trail followed by the Pikes Peak Ascent and Marathon. This trail is beautiful even if you don't go very far up. You can take this trail to hike the entire way up to the summit of Pikes Peak. You can camp halfway up at Barr camp. Or, you can just get a few miles in going partially up and down.
