This is still a working mine the tour is by a Freeminer. I’d never heard of the word Freeminer either !

One mile from Coleford is Hopewell Colliery offering the opportunity to be guided through a historic mine by a freeminer, and shown the tools and methods used to extract coal from deep underground.

A great tour of the mine is offered by one of the local free miners. Recommended the tour costs £10 and is book able online
