A must sightseeing stop! Stunning views of a waterfall described as falling down kilts! Beautiful views across the sea. From here you can see the mainland and the Isle of Rona.

On the road between Staffin & Portree are two spectacular sights visible from the same viewpoint. One of these is the magnificent 90m Kilt Rock, which looks strikingly similar to a pleated kilt. Made up of basalt columns resting on a sandstone base, one might even say that the colours of the rock formation appear almost tartan. The other point of interest is the Mealt Waterfall, which, fed from nearby Mealt Loch, plummets from the top of the cliffs to the rock-laden coast below.

This is a hiking paradise and when you are up there you will have a view you won't forget. Please equip yourself with proper hiking boots and clothing. The weather can change rapidly on Skye and you need to be prepared for the odd shower or wind.
