This is the company that I direct. We have seasonal programming, and we open up our rehearsals to the public. There’s no theater-specific lighting or costumes, but the public can watch and even learn a few dance steps from the dancers. Bring a hand fan—the temperature goes up during rehearsals. We’re at the Dance Center, where you can also get info on performances by Compania Ban Rara. It recreates Cuban folklore, but with its own dance style. It’s a young company with an high standard for excellence, and you’ll enjoy the choreography, drumming, and folklore chants.
