The wait at this Vietnamese place is never long, and it’s very reasonably priced, which is rare in Hayes Valley. I like to eat here before a performance because it’s light and flavorful. If you’re attending a matinee of the ballet or opera and you don’t want a heavy meal beforehand, it’s a convenient choice. Just keep in mind they close at 6. The fresh rolls with chicken, avocado, and mint come with an amazing peanut sauce.

A terrific "hole in the wall" Vietnamese Deli. It's super cheap but so delicious. In the Hayes District, near City Hall and the Opera House

This quick and well-priced Vietnamese place only has a few items on their menu and is the perfect quick lunch spot on Haight Street. Their noodle bowls are pretty spectacular with the 5-spice chicken, but in reality, you cannot go wrong here.
