Beacon Rock is a must to explore if you want to experience one of the most iconic landmarks in the area. It was once the core of an ancient volcano. The trail up this giant monolith can be climbed in tennis shoes.

Beacon Rock is a pillar of the gorge with beautiful panaromic views the entire way up and down. The hike is steep in some locations and I don't recommend it for those who are super scared of heights since the path is along a cliff edge. If you aren't afraid of heights, this is an easy and relatively short up and down hike.
