The tower is part of a visit to a beautiful mausoleum and ruins. This tower is a minaret and is very unusual. There is also a great view of the Atlantic ocean from the site. If you are on a tour you are sure to stop here for a visit.

The construction of the Hassan Tower started in the 12th century. It was intended to become the minaret for the largest mosque in the entire world. Sadly the Moroccan ruler Yacoub al-Mansour who had initiated the project died before it could be completed. In 2012 these ruins became part of the UNESCO world heritage sites and nowadays you can walk around the site and admire the beauty of the unfinished building. The beautiful and complex patterns on the tower, as well as the pillars arranged in symmetrical perfection on the ground, makes this place a must-see on your visit to Rabat!
