Visit the ruins of the Roman town of Pollentia founded by the consul Quintus Caecilius Metellus, leader of the Roman expedition that dominated the island in 123 BC.
The Roman ruins of Pollentia are the most important archaelogical ruins from Roman times in Mallorca and the only one that can still be visited. The roman city was founded in the first century BC and it was the capital of Majorca and all the Balearic Islands during the Roman domination. There is also a Museum near the local Church that brings together the main archaelogical discoveries found in Pollentia.
