This shady, forested picnic area is a day use area only. There is a community fire ring, picnic tables, BBQ’s, parking and public restrooms. This is a great sledding spot for free-ish (parking pass required). Take your sleds and head to the hills. There is a huge downhill area for the adventure seekers, and plenty of smaller hills for toddlers to enjoy. [3.9 miles from the cabin]

There are a few fantastic trails you can hike that start from here. We suggest the Pine Knot trail, but it's a long one!

Awesome area for just messing around on a day trip! There was parking available on the side of the road and it was very kid friendly
