Historically Gilleleje is an old fishing village and it was here that many Jews were transported to Sweden during World War II. Gilleleje Church was a waiting place for Jews until they could be transported. In 1943, 75 Jews were caught by the Gestapo on the church ceiling after a snitch had informed the Germans. Everywhere there are monuments of historical events. Every year there are various festivals in Gilleleje - "Hill" Festival, Harbour Festival, Jazz at the port and The Herring Day. Die Nachbarschaft ist sehr ruhig und das Grundstück ist komplett eingewachsen, so dass man hier einen völlig ungestörten Urlaub verbringen kann. Das ganze Haus ist in skandinavischem Stil eingerichtet, seit diesem Sommer mit Kaminofen. Eine große, überdachte Holzterasse lädt bei jedem Wetter zum Essen im Freien.

Fantastic family summer cottage in Vejby

Dear Guests, We bought the cottage in 2007. We wanted our own place when visiting from China during the summers. With two little kids, coming from far away with different levels of jet lags, it was so nice to have our own little hide-away. The cottage is surrounded by a wooden terrace; it has 3 bedrooms, a summer annex and a very nice garden.
