An eco-friendly, off grid self-catering family style cottages part of the Monks Cowl Drakensberg World Heritage Site in KZN, South Africa. This is the perfect home away from home for anyone looking to relax. Whether it is hiking in the mountains, surrounded by beautiful nature, wildlife and birds, relaxing next to our natural stream that runs through the property with a book or wondering around the shops and restaurants down the road - there is something for everyone here at Highbourne Cottages.

The Studio at Mizpah Farm

Nestled between two rivers in the Karkloof Valley, The Studio at Mizpah Farm Retreat sleeps 4 in a single living space with a king-size bed and 2 singles. It includes a semi-enclosed kitchenette and verandah with spectacular views of our own waterfall (a must-see) and the Karkloof mountains. Please note that the cooking facilities (stove) comprise a two-plate gas cooker only, microwave oven, and toaster. The bathroom facilities are separate from the cabin and are located approximately 25m away.

Ebernburg Cottage, situated 5.5 km from Nottingham Road, offers a peaceful retreat while remaining conveniently close to the town. Nestled in the serene rolling hills of the Midlands, it is an ideal getaway for those looking to relax. The views from the cottage are breathtaking, with panoramic sights of a dam, the Drakensberg mountains, and Giants Castle. The Cottage is backed up by a solar system- NO LOAD SHEDDING! It is a gorgeous haven in central Nottingham Rd attached to the Manor House but very private. Seek peace & tranquility within a comfortably sophisticated environment. You'll be transported from the rushing world to a haven of calmness and beauty. The large English garden will help to create that perfect sense of being in a beautiful part of the world. The cottage is adjacent to the house but is private with separate entrance.

The Igloo Cottage

Thatched country cottage situated in the Rosetta area (halfway between Nottingham Road and Mooi River). The carpeted cottage (close to our home) with a private entrance, consists of: - a bedroom (double-bed), - lounge, workstation, lounge chairs and sleeper-couch, - kitchenette and - shower area. Private courtyard with a patio table and chairs. Situated on a small holding with the Mooi river 250m from the cottage. Guests will be able to paddle on, walk or rest at the river.
