ROACHES, GASLIGHTING HOST & UNSANITARY CONDITIONS
This Airbnb had potential, but my stay was ruined by pests and the host’s behavior. Sam, the listed host, was unresponsive on Airbnb and not present.
I was instead directed to Ramon, an unlisted host, who handled check-in and issues. On June 3, I found a live roach on my shower cap. Roaches kept appearing throughout my stay—dead in the shower, crawling on my nightstand, and baby ones from the drain. I also saw moth larvae on the walls and was bitten by mosquitoes. Ramon helped with bug spray, but the root issues—broken drains, wall cracks, and humidity—weren’t resolved.
After my stay, I requested a refund with photo/video proof. Sam responded saying there were no bugs and implied I “set it up”—gaslighting me and threatening to charge for fumigation. The sink and shower drains were broken, the fan barely worked, and AC required extra cash. I was going to give 3 stars, but the bugs, gaslighting, and poor conditions made this a 1-star
