Such a special and memorable place. I will remember the sounds of the jungle at night most of all! We did the river excursions, floating breakfast and elephant safari all of which were amazing. Delicious food too!

Staying with Ajith and his family was a pleasure. We had a wonderful time staying with them. I would recommend to try the meals of them. His mother made us every morning homemade coconut rotti (so good) and we tried also her curry what was probably one of the best we ate in Sri Lanka. It is not in Ella Town but he offers a lift free of charge so it is not a problem and you can avoid tourist crowds.

Big and delicious breakfast! The room was clean and with a beautiful view of the mountains. The owner suggested us places to visit and organized a tuk tuk to the tea factory, little Adams Peak and to the waterfall. The only thing that could be improved is the Wi-Fi connection inside the rooms.

I had a great stay at Serendib. The host was super responsive and accommodating. Tea service was amazing. The room was simple but clean. This place is a little outside Ella but easily reachable by tuktuk or car. It is also close to Haputale. The host was able to help me get to the hotel and around the area. Overall a good experience.

This beautiful cottage is small, and perfect for a small family. Since Nuwera Eliya gets a bit cold at night, the cozy bed rooms and the blankets provided by Thidasala came to our rescue. His father took care of us so well, since Thidasala was not in town when we visited. We appreciate that. The view from the room of the Gregory Lake is brilliant. The wifi is good. We had a small kitchen as well. The bathroom was clean and we had hot water. This place is perfect for a small family who wants to enjoy the city, and not be in the rush. Their hospitality was amazing. 5 star from me.

We had a great time at the Sitara bungalow. Beautiful place up in the hills in a tea estate, bit away from the busy Ella. Place is very spacious and nicely decorated. This is a better alternative to staying in Ella. The staff Ghandi and Nalini took good care of us. Gandhi's polsombola was amazing. We really enjoyed the meals they prepared for us. Leon the German Shepherd was a pleasure to have arround. We highly recommend this place.

This is one of the best places in Sri Lanka or in the world to experience the unique fauna and flora that is endemic only to this place. What a better place to enjoy the serenity of the unique Knuckles range staying at Eagles Crest. I personally have stayed in Eagles crest many years back and this is just amazing to experience it all over again. Full of trekking excursions for the adventures individuals. Amenities have improved with ample shower rooms , beds , sofas , garden tables and chairs surrounding the property. The care taker SIRISENA is the person who has been there from the start with his amazing hospitality and the tasty food he cooks. He is part of the place now for the last 22 years or so. This was the only place available for visitors at the start when I stayed 17 years back. I would definitely recommend any one who are looking for a short or long stay.

We had a fantastic stay at Banyan Camp. Came highly recommended by friends who had stayed recently and it managed to exceed our expectations. One of the most peaceful and relaxing places I've ever visited. The whole camp is really well curated, we loved all the local antiques the owner has collected. All the traditional food was great, super healthy and was really fun to have the reasons why the various dishes are eaten together explained! We had a great time with the other guests around the dinner table too! Our dinner on the first night was floating on a raft in the lake under the stars which was a magical experience. Only regret is we didn't stay longer!

i stayed only one night here, nice place,host is keeping house and outside areas as very clean. i enjoyed the breakfast it was so authentic and delicious it is located in near to beatiful ella railway station,i could see beatiful view of the ella railway area from this house. it was very helpful to me take good pictures and videos. I would recommend staying at this place to people who are like to stay quiet and cosy

Die Unterkunft liegt mitten in der Natur, ca 25 Minuten Fußweg von Ellas Hauptstraße entfernt, mit dem Tuktuk ist man aber in 5 Minuten Mitten im Geschehen (500 LKR). Wir wurden sehr herzlich empfangen und haben auch die Cooking Class in der Unterkunft gemacht, als auch eine Tour zu Ellas Hauptsehenswürdigkeiten - kann ich beides empfehlen und vor Ort kriegt man auch Empfehlungen und Tipps. Man ist in den Chalets sehr privat und hat eine wunderschöne Aussicht, sodass man dem Trubel der Stadt entkommen kann. An die Geräusche der Natur muss man sich erstmal kurz gewöhnen - aber das ist nun wirklich ein Luxusproblem :-) Das Frühstück war ausreichend und ist mit viel Liebe gemacht. Man kann im Supermarkt auch noch Sachen dazu kaufen, wenn einem etwas fehlt :-) Können wir empfehlen!

A true retreat, nestled in the mountains. think stunning views, tranquility, wild peacocks and monkeys,but not a handy location to sight see from. Map was misleading and Haputhale is an hour away. Rooms are simple with delightful antiques. Staff are very courteous but have very limited English. Food was simple and delicious Sri Lankan cuisine. Make sure you book meals in advance. They kindly arranged a delicious birthday cake for us. Beautiful gardens with architectural features everywhere, lovely views, good swimming pool but lacking any comfortable seating. A truly unique place to get away from modern life.

I absolutely loved my stay. The location, albeit quite remote, is stunning and set up in a very spacious way so that privacy for all guests is ensured. Staff service is very professional, helpful and impeccable. The hosts offer lots of additional activities, like different walks or games, besides the obvious safaris. The safari was great, with a very knowledgeable guide and very tasty packed food. Food at the campsite is very decent with, again, an impeccable service. The tents are beyond comfortable, and not at all what I expected (being Dutch, camping generally means living in abject poverty by choice). All in all, I would definitely recommend staying here.

Located about 20 minute drive from Ella, The Hideaway is a beautiful and remote spot, and was in fact better than I had expected from the AirBnB profile and pictures. The views are the major selling point, with fantastic views throughout the location. Staff very helpful in organising trips into Ella and able to offer on site spa treatment which was excellent. Bedrooms were more comfortable than I had expected, bathrooms were quite basic but not enough to trouble me. Onsite food was very good, but we preferred to travel into Ella for evening meals. Whether you want to just hideaway for a few days, or use this as a more remote spot to access Ella - it is great.

Outstanding place, surreal views and service to match! The pictures don't do it justice but trust me, you won't be disappointed! Perfect angle for sunset over the infinity pool or even dining in room. Be careful on the road in, very rocky. Loved our stay here and already planning our next trip back! Gamini deserves a gold medal, couldn't ask for a better host!

Our group had a very nice time in Yala. The facilities were as described and the staff were always super attentive and helpful.

We loved it here, everything exceeded our expectations! The welcome was amazing, our tent was great, we didn’t want for anything. The campfire dinner was a real highlight and of course the safari was an a mixing experience! All of the staff were exceptional, we couldn’t recommend this place more!
