Great stay! Perfect location right by Hawaii Volcanoes National Park! Enjoyed the hot tub on the cool evenings!

Great place! Super quiet and peaceful. Nice to have a common area but private space as well. Good setup for two couples or a few friends. There are some good restaurants nearby, as well as amenities like groceries etc. Highly recommended the farmer’s market that’s nearby. Overall very good experience

We are move to Pahoa soon we were looking at homes in the area beautiful peaceful place to stay it was so private. The frogs were loud but it made you like you were in the jungle we got used to it and loved everything about our visit wonderful

Just cute as a button and so darn restful inside! Kitchen is top notch. Beds were very comfortable. Lighting is a nice touch and fittingly relaxing like everything else about this place. Deck is covered ensuring outdoor evenings. It’s VERY close to Volcanos National Park and makes it very easy to explore that place. When you’re not exploring this is a terrific place to put your feet up. Bring some good cause you’ve got a great kitchen and there aren’t a lot of amazing options in town. Stop at a farmers market, get yourself some Ka’u or Kona coffee, and come relax!!

If you are going to be in this side of the Big Island this airbnb is a must! Love the place!! I wish we would have stayed longer! First of all what a paradise, very cute and clean. Love the outdoor shower and of course all the amenities. I personally enjoyed walking up in the morning have a cup of coffee in the porch and at night returning from all our sightseeing and enjoy the hot tub while listening to the frogs and the birds outside. Our host was very proactive and return a message promptly even though I was not expecting it. Thank you for everything!

We loved are stay the location was perfect. Star gazing at night, the fireplace was nice. Fully stock kitchen. A few roaches here at there… lol although it was cold at night and early mornings the house was stocked with extra blankets heaters etc. that was much appreciated. The only down side is only one bathroom. Overall we enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

The hands down best stay on the Big island. So peaceful and quiet. You forget you are even on earth. Dawn was amazing and gave amazing ideas on what to do.

What an amazing and peaceful jungle cabin! We loved how beautiful the jungle is and how disconnected we felt from the real world. Much needed! Also super cool this place is fully off-grid with treated rain water and solar power. Such a great place and we'd definitely visit again!

Kirpal is a fantastic place, with a real community vibe. I'd highly recommend it as a place to getaway and embrace your mind, body, soul and connect with new people and the environment. It's off the beaten track, so having a car is preferable. Take advantage of the yoga classes and vegan meals, they are fantastic. Befriend the other guests and workers, they'll become your family after a few days. Make sure you ask before eating the fruit from the orchard, some isn't safe/ready.

Holly’s Place was very beautiful and secluded and serene. We loved the surrounding forestry and the amenities! She was very communicative and brought us some yummy fresh eggs! We enjoyed our short stay and highly recommended it. Well worth the price. Yes the roads here in Hawai’i are pretty treacherous. Just follow her instructions well and it’ll be no problem to get there.

This little cabin was perfect for my little dog and I to have a stay-cation on the Volcano side of the island. We loved the chickens and the fresh eggs and the very peaceful setting. I also, really appreciate the generous check in and check time windows! Next time we come to Volcano I hope this cabin is available! Mahalo for a great stay.

This place is a great, unique find just outside of Volcano NP. The cabin has a lot of character and history, while also having all the small touches that shows people have actually lived there and used it. Finally, the location is great for getting into the NP and the host even helpfully informed us when there was an eruption. Would definitely stay again.

Loved staying here. We wanted exactly what we got. Private, green, cozy, adventurous. Loved it. A great get-way for people who like to explore and be just a bit crunchy.

Diane's cabin was a very peaceful place to stay. She was very responsive and flexible. Diane was even kind enough to assist me in coordinating to receive time-sensitive mail while staying at her cabin. The place was clean and organized. You can tell that much thought was put into the layout and where things were placed/organized around the cabin. I would definitely stay at Diane's cabin again.

Awesome authentic off grid experience living in a super clean cabin in the woods with all the amenities you could want or need. Falling into a deep sleep in the cabin loft to the serenade of the coqui frogs or taking an instant hot water shower outdoors surrounded by only the rainforest, these are experiences that will stick with you for a lifetime. Tom and Misty are really cool and accommodating, and gave me great advice for living off grid in the Puna district. Don’t miss this rainforest cabin experience, because once you find it, you might never want to leave!

Criss' place was absolutely adorable and just what we needed during our trip! It had a charming, rustic feel and was nestled in a peaceful subdivision, giving us plenty of privacy. We loved that it was only a 2.5-mile walk or run to the stunning Kehena Beach, where we spent most of our time. Keep in mind, you'll need a car to get to the property. They're currently building a new cabin on-site, which we're excited to see in the future!

I am more than happy about my stay here in mangoland. Laura is extremely friendly and has a wonderful little paradise in mangoland that she shared with us. I grew up on a ranch off grid, so this was very perfect for me and being IN THE JUNGLE was unreal. As a chef, the kitchen had all of the basics that I needed to cook home cooked meals every morning and night. The cabin was clean and the mattress was the comfiest mattress I have ever slept on. The outdoor shower was so relaxing and the water temp was perfect every time. Waking up and falling asleep to the sounds of the jungle was truly unreal. Staying here really made me realize what my life would look like living off grid on the big island, and I loved every second of it. My brain feels rewired after my stay here.

This was out second stay at Connie and Andrew’s Pahoa hideaway and it was just as wonderful as the first. This property is a wonderful place for a couple to spend a relaxing vacation. We spent most mornings enjoying the rental and its lush grounds. Saw the volcano eruption from the road nearby and were in volcano less than an hour later watching it in person, only hours after it started and it was done by the next morning. The “red road” in Puna was wonderful. We enjoyed Hilo and the Hamakua coast, as well as the charm of Pahoa. There is always a bit of driving to do on the Big Island and it was a respite to return to the Pahoa hideaway and relax under the stars. Thanks for another great stay. Hope to see you again soon.

This place was so peaceful and a great location when visiting volcanos national park and beaches around Hilo. Bill was very responsive and gave ample recommendations for restaurants and places to visit. Would highly recommend!!
