A beautiful location with well equipped and comfortable rooms. We loved how spacious the apartment was. Friendly and helpful hosts made us feel welcome. We had a relaxing stay whilst in the area for a wedding and would definitely stay again. Especially loved walking down to the river.

Joan was a great host. Her and her partner gave great recommendations for food and activities. The castle was absolutely beautiful! It was so tranquil and peaceful at night. The view from the tower was breathtaking!

What a wonderful stay at Nick & Emiko’s gorgeous cottage! The home is absolutely stunning - we were immediately charmed by the lush garden and the peaceful location along the river. We wanted for nothing - every amenity we needed was thoughtfully provided. Sleep was very comfortable and the cottage was so quiet. It was just two of us on this trip, but we’d love to come back another time with friends and/or family. Thank you again, Nick & Emiko, for opening up your lovely home to us! We feel lucky to have stumbled upon such a gem.

We had a wonderful long weekend at the Gatehouse. It is genuinely as stunning as it looks in the photos! It is also very comfortable and well-equipped, with everything we could need, and some extra luxuries such as dressing gowns, and a lovely welcome basket when we arrived ( we very much enjoyed the Welshcakes!). The location is very private and peaceful, but only a few minutes' walk from an excellent pub, the Miller's Arms, which serves great food. It's a 20-minute walk from a bus stop with half-hourly buses into Chepstow, or you can walk to Chepstow from the Gatehouse in 45 minutes or so, so it's accessible even if you don't have a car, like us. It's an absolutely magical place to stay; you will never regret booking it!

Arthog Hall is a precious gem. Howard is a cultured, kind, and attentive host who goes the extra mile. Enjoy breathtaking views of Wales around every corner. Step back in time to appreciate the days of yore. I dress in layers while in the UK, especially near the sea. After I soaked in a glorious warm bath, I burrowed beneath a pile of comforters in a four poster bed fit for a queen. Best sleep in years! Enjoy a delicious menu of breakfast cereals, pastries, toast, fruits, juices, cheeses, meats - all elegantly served by Howard as we looked out on his gorgeous property with his darling girls near, dachshund sisters Biddy and Bella. We marveled at Arthog’s own waterfalls, nearby vast beaches, charming towns, and the rugged beauty of Cader Idris. Howard delighted us with stories and played his grand piano with well known show tunes. An amazing time in an enchanted place, a true gem in the heart of Wales. We’ll be back! Steward en zijn vrouw heetten ons welkom. Steward toonde ons de flat, die dichtbij een oud landhuis ligt. Flat was lekker ruim. Schoon en opgeruimd. Bed was goed. Erg rustige omgeving. De flat lag mooi centraal voor ons. We hebben ons prima vermaakt.

A great short break at Lucy’s house. The host was very helpful with all queries and communications answering very quickly. The instructions and house descriptions were accurate. We were able to park in a nearby side street 5 minutes walk away and left the car there. The house was warm and cosy and beds very comfortable. Although the kitchen is small it was completely adequate and well equipped. The stairs to the loft room are very steep but we knew this on booking. Everywhere was clean and lots of fluffy towels for all 5 guests. For a town centre location within the towns castle walks it was so quiet. We went for a men’s short break. The Roebuck pub literally on the doorstep is a great traditional old pub. A good range of cask beers and at cheap prices. The Tapps is a new venue dedicated to craft beers and again is right in the town. For a great breakfast or lunchtime snack the Cantin by the library is brilliant. If you like a good curry with great service then try Spice Safari.
