This bungalow is one of the iconic buildings of yesteryears Kalimpong The bungalow is beautifully kept, restoring old bits and parts and modernizing them for daily comfort. We loved the simple decor, massive open garden and the food The chef and the manager in site are extremely courteous and helpful. We were a family of 7 and we were very well taken care of. Rita personally came and met us, and gave us a hand baked cake and muffins. The location is serene, quite and peaceful. The rooms are very well equipped and clean. And the staff is there throughout. For sure, one of our best ever stays

Irecently had the pleasure of staying at Sanjay's place in Kalimpong, and it was an absolutely delightful experience. The property is not only beautifully maintained but also offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. Sanjay was an exceptional host—warm, welcoming, and always available to assist with any queries or needs.

I stayed at this homestay for three nights, and it was a delightful experience. The view from the balcony is simply breathtaking, and the hospitality of the people here is heartwarming. The food is a standout feature—organic and delicious. However, I did encounter a few minor issues. The common bathroom can be a bit inconvenient, and the charger jack is located quite low on the wall. It would be much more convenient if it were placed beside the bed for easier access. Additionally, there are extra charges for using the kitchen, which I believe should be clearly mentioned in the instructions provided to guests. Despite these small issues, everything else was great. I would highly recommend this homestay for its beautiful views, warm hospitality, and excellent food.

I stayed with my family and it was exactly how I wanted it to be. The house is extremely well maintained and very clean with a fully functional kitchen. The balcony had stunning views. All the staff were very friendly, helpful and responsive. Loved the overall experience and would definitely go back to visit this place again 🥰

We had a lovely stay at this super spacious 3-bedroom country house set within beautiful, expansive grounds. The home was spotless, well-maintained, and the architecture was truly stunning. The location is peaceful yet convenient, just a short drive from Kalimpong. One day we even made the scenic trip to Darjeeling, which was absolutely worth it, though we were glad to return to the tranquility of the cottage. The surrounding area is rich in history and culture. We visited nearby Tibetan monasteries, which felt very special, and even explored St. Mary’s School, founded by a Scottish man,such a fascinating bit of heritage. This place was a beautiful blend of traditional and modern aspects. You get to stay in a beautiful countryside in traditional Sikkimese tribal cottages, go hiking in the nearby village, but also unwind in a restobar with great food and live music. The host, the staff and even the other guests made us feel so warm and welcome. We strongly recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience a blissful rural life.

What an amazing stay, we couldn’t have wished for a more secluded and private week. The food was amazing and we were completely taken care of. The rooms were spacious, the food was delicious and we loved playing badminton out in the garden. We cannot thank you enough for such a great stay and would highly recommend to anyone considering of staying at La Ipsing.

We had a magical stay at Manohar’s place. The renovation was a work of love and shows painstaking attention to historical detail. The little exhibition on the story of the house, from the end of the Raj to Manohar’s family, is also enchanting. Manohar and his team were great hosts, and everything went smoothly from our arrival after dark to our early-morning departure for the airport. Our host made us a lovely breakfast that we ate in the garden with a view of Kangchenjunga and gave us helpful tips for dinner. I’d definitely recommend a stay at this lovely house. We wish we could have spent more time enjoying it!
