Feel like you are in a tree house with all the comforts of home. Surrounded by trees and mountain wildlife, with a state-maintained gravel road. Nearby activities include New River fishing, Blue Ridge Parkway hiking, public golf, and visiting agri-tourism farms with Christmas trees, apples, pumpkins, honey, and more.

The Whip-poor-will's Roost (pets welcome!)

Nestled among the trees at the top of the ridge of Bell Mountain is our lovely cabin, aptly named The Whip-poor-will's Roost. These bird's distinctive calls can be heard in the early evening hours, a complimentary soundbite to the fresh mountain air. About 20 mi. from the Blue Ridge parkway, and looking out over + surrounded by Stone Mountain State Park and the Doughton Recreational area, this log cabin offers a peaceful getaway with ample access to the outdoors (including our own 18 acres).

This two-bedroom abode is named after our dog who loves the freedom of the mountain woods and creek bottom in the front yard. He enjoys playing with the many deer, rabbits and various wildlife that we hope you can enjoy too during your stay!! The cabin is conveniently located near historic downtown North Wilkesboro, Moravian Falls, many ski slopes, Boone, & West Jefferson. Pets are welcome with no additional charge!!
