What a little gem! Great instructions on how to get there and lots of recommendations from the host on places to eat and drink and walks on the doorstep. The cottage is charming and set in a pretty and peaceful location with really easy access to the local area for days out. The cottage has all of the amenities you’ll need and is super comfortable with lots of little extra touches. The hot tub is a real treat. I would definitely recommend and hope to visit again.

Great place to stay if you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of every day life and are looking to spend a lot of time relaxing inside the cottage itself! My partner and I spent an excellent 4 days/nights at Nick and Anita's place, watching Rory win The Masters and rewatching S1 of The Last of Us on their Sky subscribed TV, playing pool/table tennis/darts while a fire roared in the fireplace in the games room, listened to country music while sitting outside in the hot tub in the evening sun, curled up on the comfy sofa and chair in the livingroom reading our books/Kindles, etc. We did venture out to The Langford Inn for a wonderful pub lunch, to Marco Pierre White's restaurant for a steak dinner and to Cheddar for a day trip to see the caves, do the full 4-mile Cheddar Gorge Cliff-Top walk, and of course buy some Cheddar cheese! Many thanks to Nick and Anita who thought of EVERYTHING when it came to the cottage... Welcome hamper and leaving treat were much appreciated!

Beautiful place and area with rural charm and character - very therapeutic! The guest house is cosy, clean and comfortable with many items provided which made us feel welcome and at home. There is a guestbook with helpful information / instructions and recommendations for local activities. Catherine was very responsive and we felt everything was easy to understand, there were also hand written notes around the house which made it feel homely. The hot tub is lovely and tucked away in a private spot, surrounded by nature. The area is peaceful and quiet and close to The Druids Arms and Stanton Drew Stone Circle. We loved our stay and will definitely return. Many thanks to Catherine! I highly recommend.

A great home in the countryside of Bath. The surroundings are great, felt very peaceful. Was great to have the fireplace. Claire was super responsive and helpful. The rooms are great, vey much appreciated the linens, cleanest sheets and towels, wonderful duvets and mattresses. A 15’ car drive from the center of Bath. Hot bath tub was great too! Would recommend for sure.

Thank you for hosting us, Aisha. The cottage and its surroundings are absolutely stunning. Inside, the cottage is spacious and well equipped. The bathroom is a particular highlight and features a fantastic bath and underfloor heating. We were fortunate to spend New Year’s Eve at this property and were greeted with a Christmas/NYE card and a bottle of wine, which was a lovely touch! Thank you for that! Aisha was very responsive both before and during our trip, answering a question we had on arrival really promptly. A fantastic retreat in a peaceful village - with Bath being close by if you want to drive and explore locally! Would definitely recommend and return! Thank you.

Beautiful location - drive into Bath only 15 minutes. Stunning views! Place was immaculate, very clean, beautifully designed and had everything you needed. Myself and the group I attended with could not fault it.

A fabulous three night stay at this tranquil location , peaceful , out of the way - but a prime location to be in reach of Bristol , Bath, Stroud& not too long of a drive for a day trip to Sommerset. How this cottage has an availability I do not know. There are many elements that made this heavenly from the hot tub , fireplace & views from your bedroom windows. Birds tweeting & pure peacefulness. Easy instructions & a proactive host. The first air BnB I haven’t needed to ask questions when they are clearly laid out for me. We will 100% be back & 1000% recommend. Thankyou so much.

We had a lovely one night’s stay at Ollivia’s air bnb. The place is incredibly well kitted out and contains everything you need for a comfortable stay. Ollivia was super kind and accommodating. Will definitely be back!

Have just returned from this lovely property and it was just perfect. The location is idyllic, a beautiful little village but easy reach of Bath and Bristol. The cottage was beautiful, individually decorated, homely with lots of little extras, like tea and coffee, a well stocked kitchen and beds that were so comfortable we were looking at the mattresses to find out where they came from! The property was spacious, good sized bedrooms, excellent showers and a delightful courtyard garden which is perfect to enjoy a coffee in the mornings. As described parking is a little tight at the property but we parked easily in the road and just walked up the drive which was well lit at night. There was a really good info folder in the cottage with lots of recommendations for local places to eat, we chose The Litton pub, great food and very reasonably priced drinks. We’d love to return to this cottage and are hoping to do so at a later date.

Bat Cottage was a perfect stay for nine of us exploring the Mendips, getting cosy by the fire and eating lots of delicious food made in the lovely kitchen. Sue and Abi made sure our stay was comfortable.

Fabulous place to stay within easy walking distance of Chepstow town centre. Communication was great, and the house was perfect!! Would highly recommend

Down for a wedding at Folly Farm, lovely space in wonderful location. Amenities and space ideal for two couples. Easy to find and such tranquility so close to the vibe of Bristol and splendour of Bath. Wandered around the lake direct from the house on the morning of the wedding, having enjoyed dinner at the Pony and Trap (very close) on the Friday evening. Pippa very helpful host.

First I'll say that everything was clean and as described in the listing. The furniture was comfortable and everything is thoughtfully laid out. Beyond that the host was very communicative and even let us know we'd accidentally left a jacket behind which we greatly appreciated. The location is great. It's right by the castle and parking (which does cost money but not a lot). We enjoyed walking to brunch one morning and stepping across the street for drinks and live music one evening. It's really special being able to walk out and see a stunning castle and fun town to start your day in the morning.

Perfect cottage with good amenities

Elizabeth’s place is one the nicest we’ve stayed in. It’s cosy and peaceful while also being really well equipped with everything you cold need. The beds were super comfy too and our daughter loved saying hello to the chickens. There’s loads to do in the local area from Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole to the arcades at Weston Supermare. The shop at the garage down the road is a lot fancier than a garage shop has any right to be! And check out The Market Kitchen for a lovely breakfast.

stayed for a couple of months whilst renovating our home. A real home from home in the most perfect surroundings, coffee on the decking watching the ducks! Ben was a great host, very responsive and accommodating. Bens parents live next door who were very friendly, approachable and helpful. Convenience store and pub within walking distance. Overall a fantastic stay in a great location.

Great stay at the house and perfect for what we needed. A few things the host has made clear they are working on to make the place really great but they didn't interfere with our stay.

The place was cozy and clean, just as described. Unfortunately, we couldn’t stay for the full duration due to a change in plans, but we still thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Frances was always available and responsive to any questions. Highly recommended!

Our stay at Gatekeepers Lodge was truly memorable. A perfect blend of comfort, cleanliness, tranquility and such a cosy atmosphere. After a busy day exploring Bath, relaxing by the wood fire was a real treat Thank you Jay !

A great place to stay on the River Wye. The property was as described and exceeded expectations. Nice and spacious, very clean and good amenities for a short stay. There was 6 of us and we had more than enough space. The outside area was a highlight with great views. Rebecca was a responsive and helpful host. Definitely recommend!
