We had an amazing time!! Place was amazing, views spectacular as promised, and we loved the stove/fireplace. The 4WD note is real — our rental car company failed us, gave us a 2WD, and we couldn’t get up the driveway. We parked at the bottom of the hill … it was a 5-10min walk and not an issue for anyone in our group. So, make sure you have 4WD, or if you don’t mind a walk, that might work too!

Sally was extremely responsive when it came to communication, and her binder gives you everything you could possibly need to know about not only the house but the whole area in general. She is an amazing host

We were very pleased to find this space so refreshingly warm and inviting. It suited our needs exactly. I spent hours on the porch just sitting and relaxing.

Very cute old farmhouse with just the right amount of upgrades to make it comfortable without losing charm. Good location close to East Burke. It snowed for our Thanksgiving stay making the place super cozy (but we couldn’t figure out how to turn on the fireplace). Bathrooms are huge!

The farmhouse style home was cozy, very clean and in a picturesque, quiet location. Nick and Sara were easy to get in touch if we had any questions. Would highly recommend this property!

I shared this house with a few friends while skiing at Jay Peak and had a lovely stay. The electric fireplace kept us cozy and warm even in negative degree weather. The house was well stocked with everything you might need during your stay. Three bathrooms was great for our group so we could all quickly shower after a day on the slopes. It’s a bit far from everything, like a coffee shop or grocery store, so I definitely recommend bringing what you need as you can’t quickly run out to grab it. Also the road to the house was pretty icy (it had been snowing) so make sure your car is well equipped for a true Vermont winter! Overall loved the place.

This was our second time there and knew what to expect. It was quiet and nice. Didn’t need to reach anyone while we were there. Would definitely stay again.

This location was one of my favorites! More than accommodating, so clean, super family friendly! perfect space for family and friends to gather and enjoy the time together 💜 it was an incredible stay, we cannot wait to come back!

Chad was an incredible host! He was extremely accommodating with any requests we had. The views from his place are breath-taking! We enjoyed snowshoeing from the backyard onto trails in the woods. I fell in love with his cat who visited daily! He kept the driveway plowed and salted in a timely fashion. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend his place!

What a great spot! Located perfectly between Montgomery and Jay Peak. Tucked back off the main road in a lovely private community. Such a great place for family’s and dog friendly which is huge! Rich was great to work with as well. Very quick to respond. Thanks again Rich!

The cabin was spotless, private, and in great location. We enjoyed skiing during the day and cooking ours dinner at the cabin. This was a relaxing getaway for all.

The best stay around! Barre is a great little walkable town with shops and restaurants to explore. It’s only a short drive to local ski / snowboarding mountains as well as some hiking. The house was clean, spacious and very nicely decorated. The kitchen had everything we needed that made it feel like we were cooking right at home, which we loved. Karen and Courtney were responsive and very helpful!

We loved our 3 night stay at this cozy condo on Burke Mountain! We enjoyed the easy access to the slopes, the wood burning stove, and a few awesome area restaurants recommended by Meredith! We hope to be visit again soon!

Stayed at Mike’s place for 3 nights while skiing at Jay Peak. Ideal location and was just the perfect layout and space for my party of 6. Even with 3 adults and 3 kids there was still plenty of extra space for additional guests. Some nice restaurants just down the street towards Montgomery. The space was also ideal for cooking in and enjoying time with everyone. Have been to Jay Peak often and would certainly be interested in renting again.

We had a lovely stay at the Whimsy Cottage for a weekend ski trip at Jay Peak ~15 mins away. The cottage was comfortable with lots of space, kitchen amenities for cooking, and appreciated the extra linens/ bedding. Located right off the highway, but was not too noisy at night except for the occasional passing of cars. Enjoyed the easy access of the gas station/ deli across the street for breakfast sandwiches and limited groceries. Sarita was a very responsive and friendly host, would recommend.

Exactly what we needed! We were in town visiting family for Thanksgiving, and Jeff's place was perfect. Cozy, clean and private, and close to everything we needed. Jeff was a fantastic host, super proactive and responsive. Thank you for a fantastic stay!

Home was a great spot to stay for skiing at Jay. Jay Country Store was less than a minute ride for anything you may need. Home was as decribed. Clean home and comfortable beds. We cooked every night in the kitchen for dinner. We were allowed to stay longer day of check out which was great for our group to visit longer. We also did a walk at Jay Recreational Centere which was a 2 minute drive from the house. We will definitely stay here again! Thanks!

We stayed at Elena's home for a four day ski trip. Her place was clean, comfortable, and cozy. The big kitchen stocked with pots and pans allowed us to make several meals. And the drives to Bretton Woods and Loon were very easy. Would definitely stay again!

Great place to stay for a single person or a couple seeking a quiet setting, walks in the woods, or skiing at Stowe. No other houses in sight. Excellent value for money. Some details we loved: The lighted address sign, so when arriving after a long trip at night we knew we were in the right place. The wood stove was easy to use and the radiant heat was great after a winter day outdoors. The cabin is cozy, but that is not a euphemism for claustrophobic: it has lots of windows, two skylights, and plenty of space. Very communicative and hospitable host, Stephanie. We only dealt with her remotely, but she has a caretaker nearby. She made us feel welcome and was alway there to help. Our stay had more of a personal, than a corporate feel, which we appreciated. We were glad we had 4-wheel drive and snow tires. . guests should be sure to have one of those and, ideally, both, especially when snow is expected, as Stephanie will tell you. We would be happy to return to this home away from home.

I had a great stay at Peter's place. It felt private and quiet despite being attached to the main house. Spacious and clean with very a comfortable mattress. Thank you, Peter!

My family and I very much enjoyed our stay at the cottage. My boys loved sledding on the hill off the front porch the most. We wished it was warmer while we were there to be able to enjoy the property more and try the snowshoes Amy was graciously willing to lend us. This is a great place to stay as a family with plenty of things to do within an hour radius. Thanks Amy!

Arrivée super simple et bonnes directions données (plus Google maps) le chalet des bois est tranquille, a un beau terrain intime, notre chien a adorer s'y promener. L'intérieur du chalet impeccable, propre et bien aménagé (j'aurais juste ajouté des stores ou des rideaux à la chambre, sinon s'apporter un loup pour ceux sensibles a la lumière le matin🙂) j'y retournerais dans hésiter!
