Un lugar super acogedor, la anfitriona y su equipo de trabajo super amables, siempre con una sonrisa a flor de piel, ubicado frente a la playa y muy cerca del parque Nacional Manzanillo, lo que facilita llegar ahí, incluso caminando. Situado en la misma propiedad que Coccoloba donde se desayuna riquísimo, y muy cerca también de otros restaurantes. Muy bien equipado en lo que a cocina se refiere y en todo lo demás, se duerme riquísimo.... y muy importante tiene aire acondicionado. De mi parte, super recomendado para darse una escapadita al Caribe en pareja!!!!!

Muy buena experiencia. Janina se comunicó conmigo y nos envió de manera muy clara todas las indicaciones de la casa y la información para el check in, que muy amablemente nos permitieron hacer un poco antes de la hora. El espacio es amplio y cómodo. Tiene implementos de cocina para preparar comida, buen internet y basureros para separar el reciclaje 💚 La propiedad es de fácil acceso y está muy cerca de la calle principal, pero a la vez es muy privada y silenciosa. Todo salió muy bien.

Happy House is the perfect name for this oasis! Our family was so lucky to get to stay there. The property is large and private. The covered patio ( we call it a California room in California) was amazing. The indoor/outdoor kitchen and living space was a great place for our family to relax after many adventurous days in Costa Rica. The bedrooms and bathrooms were comfortable. There were geckos and bugs in the covered patio area but my boys loved that part! The beach is beautiful but there is a rip current right in front of the house but we walked a short distance in both directions and found great swimmable ocean for our kids. It was a great end to our Costa Rican vacation! Thanks Steve for opening up your special space to visitors! Pura Vida!

Es un hospedaje muy bonito, completamente cerca del Parque Nacional, por eso mismo hay mucha fauna cerca, tuvimos la suerte de poder ver monitos, un perezoso y más especies. Muy atentos y muy amables, sin duda si algún día vuelvo a Cahuita los volvería a escoger.

The people at the lodge are wonderful and made us feel very at home and welcome. Breakfast was really good too. We rented bikes from Mister Joseph and the ride to and from town took about 20 minutes because it is a bumpy unpaved rode but also has few cars and ocean views making it a pretty journey. The beach there is very dramatic with lovely sunrises. Isabelle is very active and engaged with the community and environmental projects and is a wealth of information about Cahuita. Roberto is also a gem of kindness and knows a ton about plants and animals.

Casa Viva is a unique place. Magnificent villa set in the jungle filled with wonderful vegetation. Excellent access to the beautiful beach, where guests have access to deckchairs and towels. Water equipment for rent at an additional cost. The villa is cleaned daily, towels are changed daily. Beautiful bathrooms, very comfortable bedrooms. Living room and terrace with a beautiful exposure to the garden. Generally the whole plot is safe, clean and tidy. The kitchen is very well equipped. Luis is a great host. Before our arrival, we received all the necessary information and recommendations of restaurants, shops and attractions. Highest possible rating.

Janet is een geweldige host! Ik heb me nog nooit eerder ergens zo thuis gevoeld. Als je op zoek bent naar een rustige plek, ontspanning, aan het strand, op loopafstand van restaurants en winkels, en houdt van dieren (Gerald and Kitty) dan is dit de meest fantastische plek om te verblijven. Het was een heel fijne plek om mijn reis Costa Rica te starten. Janet, ontzettend bedankt voor de gastvrijheid, de tips en vooral de mooie gesprekken! Ik kom zeker een keer terug.

An oasis in the jungle just a short distance from the beaches, restaurants and activities. Paolo is a great guy. Super friendly and responsive. The space is beautiful, well decorated and comfortable. The beds are very comfortable and the shower pressure is impressive. Highly recommended and I hope to return. We were there for a week and felt right at home. There’s a large deck where we did yoga everyday with toucans chipping in the trees.

The place was great! The cabin was private, surrounded by nature, and a great view spot for animals. The cabin was also very well built and lots of space for lounging and other activities. Benno and his wife were very friendly and helpful for whenever we needed something. All of the restaurants and shops were within a reasonable walking distance and the beach was also very close by. So overall a very great a place and we highly recommend staying here.

I was travelling with my two children, a 2 year old and a teenager and we had the most wonderful time at his pristine bungalow. Its a little slice of heaven in Costa Rica, untouched and walkable to a beautiful beack down the road. The lighting and views from the terrace could not have been more gorgeous, I am already excite to come back. Ariana and her husband are so kind and always just one text or call away, and will assist you immediatly. Highly recommend.

C’est un parfait! L’emplacement est idéal, la literie exceptionnelle. Le jardin avec tous les animaux est super, nous avons vu un coati, des ratons laveurs, un paresseux et plein d’oiseaux. L’emplacement est très bien, proche de tout et loin du bruit. Tout est fait pour passer un bon séjour et ne pas se prendre la tête. Merci beaucoup!!

Unsere Familie (2Erw. / 2Kinder (2 und 6 Jahre) hat wunderbare Tage bei den Burkhalters verbracht. Sie waren sehr gastfreundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Unterkunft ist äusserst schön, sauber, modern und funktional eingerichtet. Wir haben einige Tiere gesehen bei Ihnen (Tukane, Affen, Leguan, Vögel,..), was unsere Kinder sehr erfreute. Der Ort lädt zur Entspannung ein und wenn mehr Action gewünscht ist, dann ist man in Kürze im Zentrum von Cahuita oder den Strand am Geniessen (inkl. surfen). Der Pool beim Casita bereitete Spass und jeweils eine kurze Abkühlung. Übrigens: der Pool wurde täglich gepflegt und war sehr hygienisch. Die Küche ist einfach eingerichtet, reicht jedoch super zum selbst kochen für die ganze Familie. Zum Auswärtsessen haben uns die Burkhalters über div. Essensgelegenheiten beraten, so dass lange Suchen für Restaurants nicht nötig waren. 😀 Wir würden jederzeit wieder dorthin gehen.

Lovely bungalow in the jungle. The location is out of town but close to beautiful beaches, surrounded by jungle, and close to many restaurants. The kitchen is very well-equipped and the beds are comfortable. Marlena was a very friendly and accommodating host. Would recommend.

We stayed two nights with our kids (10 & 12) and loved it. Exactly as described, comfy, clean and in the middle of nature. Unique location. Kayaking the creek was awesome. The beach is very nice as well. They work with a sustainble concept. Staff is friendly and super helpful.
