Beautiful surroundings plus so peaceful and quiet, views are breathtaking, you can either enjoy sitting under the veranda or go out with the canoe and enjoy the calmness of the dam, or take a walk on the 3km dirt road and enjoy the mountains which is away from noise and traffic on this still working farm. Clive and Sarah where so hospitable, always responsive and willing to help, there is a inverter in case of power failures. If you want a calming/relaxing weekend away, i would suggest these chalets in Nottingham Road, thank you for having us!

We loved Beacon Vlei. The Boat House was a great getaway house for our full family (4 people, 2 dogs, and a baby). The view from the main bedroom is beautiful, looking out over the lake and the mountains in the distance. Our dogs had a blast as well swimming in the lake and running free on the ample grass fields.

This was such a beautiful setting and mindfully equipped cottaged that I honestly didn't want to leave!! The landscape of the property is something you can stare at for hours and still find beautiful. The cottage itself is very spacious with everything you could need. The kitchen is fantastic and you could easily cook or Braai. if not there are plenty of restaurants along the midlands meander. Peter was friendly and kept me informed regarding power outages and where I could shop for things in the area. I loved seeing Zebra, horses and other animals right out side. Overall the stay was so good for the heart and soul. It brought both a sense of peace and excitement. Thank you for a lovely few days. I will definitely return.

Lovely cottage and made for a beautiful little getaway. The heated blankets were amazing for the cold. Cottage was equipped with everything you may need for a short stay. Highly recommend.

We were in for an adventure with the heavy snowfall overnight and the power being off in the area of Karkloof but luckily we had lots of firewood and a gas heater and gas stove and had Thomas come to the rescue with a bulldozer to clear the road. The location is very unique and love the design and layout of the house. Very cosy and special.

Best accommodation for a family vacation. Every room was extremely clean. Cathy was friendly and helpful. Gave us warnings about load shedding and advised of resources she has in place to assist us during that period. The Wi-Fi and entertainment makes the accommodation feel just like home. Everything we needed was available - extra blankets, irons, hairdryer, heater, etc.
