¿Cómo se hace el sirope de arce?
Your group (up to 10 persons) will learn the process of making maple syrup. I will guide you through a tasting of the different syrup grades and explain how to grade and bottle maple syrup. We will then try some sugar on snow which you will never forget! Maple sap runs when the days are above 38 degrees and the nights are below freezing. If the sap is not running or we don't have sap in storage, I will boil water (sap is 97% water) for the class. If the dates that we have listed don't work for your time frame, just send me an email and I can see if we can find another time for your true Vermont maple experience. We produce our syrup in an artisan way and you will be able to see this when you sample our maple products. We will have a maximum of 10 people, the sugar house is small, and we are not a giant production house that does thousand of gallons per year. Children under 5 are free. We at most make 60 gallons, most of which I bottle in my handblown glass! Other things to note: Part of the experience will be outside to see how sap flows from the tree into lines hung on maple trees. Inside the sugar house, we'll have the evaporator boiling (sap in season water when not in season). We do not have any toilet facilities- except in the wood! So please plan ahead.

Want to try your hand at glassblowing? It is exciting! Make a flower with a curly stem, flower funnel or a straight stemt or an ornament with our help. You'll experience first hand the thrill of working with molten glass and will create a unique work of art from start to finish. I will start with an overview of the glass studio and the glassmaking process and give you an actual demonstration on how to make the item you've selected. You’ll roll the glass in the color(s) of your choice, blow into the pipe, and help shape the piece. After an overnight controlled cooling process, you walk away the next day with your own, one-of-a-kind creation or we can arrange shipping for a small additional cost. Juega con la arcilla en un torno de alfarero
Learn from a Master Potter how to "throw" pots on the potters wheel. This one and a half hour class will take you from a ball of clay to forming a cup, bowl or some other creation that only you could do! You will learn the basic techniques needed to center the clay and form a pot. Most guests are able to try 3-4 pieces of clay during the experience. This gives you a good feel for working on the potters wheel. It's fun, it's mesmerizing and something you will remember for a lifetime. Other things to note: The experience is getting to understand working on the potters wheel. Unfortunately, you will not be able to take any pieces s home with you. Making a ceramic pot is a multi-step process and the throwing part is only the first step of four that is spread out over a few weeks. A good attitude, the ability to use both hands and sit on a low stool is required.

Learn, Improve & Enjoy Intermediate Alpine Skiing in Vermont
Our day begins at 8:30am when we will meet at the Carinthia base lodge of Mount Snow, VT. We'll discuss the snow report, lift/trail statuses, and weather expectations for the day. If rentals are needed I will accompany you to the rental shop and help facilitate that process. At 9:00am we'll take the NitroExpress chair to mid-mountain and a leisurely warm up run down DeerRun (beginner terrain) to the MainBase. Once there we'll ride up the CanyonExpress chair and access a very wide, lesson-friendly intermediate slope called Snowdance. Here, I'll take the 1st in a series of videos of you skiing which will provide the foundation for a movement analysis review, drills and tips. I'll perform on-hill demonstrations and guide you through these as we continue throughout the day. We'll circle around to the NorthFace via RiverRun and take the Challenger chair to the SummitLodge for a mid-morning break. (coffee, tea or hot chocolate on me!) After we're warmed up, we'll decend over to the SunbrookArea via the CloudNine trail for more practice. By 12:30 we'll be back to the CarinthiaLodge for lunch. At 1:30 we'll once again make our way to the MainFace, explore, ski and practice on intermediate terrain. We return by 4:00 to discuss the day's progress and review before-after videos. I'll provide self practice and a skill development plans for progressing to the next level of ski adventures!

Target fish include: Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Rock Bass, Bluegill, Yellow Perch, and Pike. For more details on fish species, click here - https://vtfishandwildlife.com/fish/fishing-opportunities/sportfish-of-vermont As the sun moves to the other side of the sky, we will spend the afternoon fishing the shade opposite of the bank we spent the morning on . There will be plenty of time to take photos and video, if you wish. And we will keep an eye out for the bald eagle flyover that we usually get on this lake. Un paseo en torno a la lana
We will begin by learning about Shetland sheep, their management, what a ruminant is and other facts specific to the Shetland breed of sheep. I will talk with guests about why we are breeding the sheep we have and what it means for them to be on the Livestock Conservancy's list of recovering breeds and why it is important to continue smart farming practices to conserve breeds that are important to diverse agriculture. Once guests have had their fill of sheep snuggles, I'll talk about the benefits of wool and demonstrate different processing techniques to show guests how the wool goes from fluff to useable yarn and fabric. Guests will have the opportunity to dive in and try their hands at wool carding, spinning and knitting with guided instruction. My hope is that guests will leave with a better understanding of the importance of conserving rare agricultural animal breeds, how their conscious choices while shopping for products can make a huge difference in animals lives, small farmers lives, their communities and the environment. Our goal is to take care of our environment while promoting rare agricultural animal breeds and educate others about the importance of taking care of the land, the animals and each other. Our educational experience packs tons of information and instruction into just an hour long mini class.
