1880 True Blue Guest Wing

We purchased this charming 1880’s Victorian Bluestone property in 2017 which was in desperate need of a restoration. Forward to 2024 and she is fully restored. We have a unique, self-contained Guest Wing, which runs off the main house and this is the space that we would love to offer as a private B&B. The location is perfect, the train station is a 150 metre walk to the end of our street, which makes it super easy to go into Adelaide CBD and enjoy any number of SA Festivals and Sporting Events.

Built in 1881, in historic Church Hill, with modern amenities, the quiet, central Gawler location offers an unique, private, short accommodation option, close to the Barossa Valley. Located to the rear of the Courthouse, guests enter a luxury ensuite, into an expansive bedroom with couch and table. The massive, freestanding bath is divine. Initial breakfast supplies are provided in the room.

Situated at the base of the Adelaide foothills in peaceful native tree surroundings, walking distance to function venue House of Haines, restaurants, cafes, bakery and takeaway shops. Anstey Hill recreation park is on your doorstep, there are walking trails where kangaroos or koalas can be seen and views overlooking the city. Complimentary breakfast hamper and bottle of sparkling water on arrival. Tea, coffee, sugar and milk.

This fully furnished,self-contained, stand alone, two bedrooms plus sofa bed, guest unit is nestled on ten acres. It is private, well off the main road, pet friendly with private backyard. The main house is 200m away. Yards for horses are opposite the unit. Dressage arena and 650m track are available. Close by trail riding, cycling/ walking paths, historical townships (Gawler, Two Wells). Barossa Valley is 25km away. Come enjoy peace and quiet, whilst being close to amenities.

Unfortunately, due to the ponds and animals on the property, Ovenden Lodge is NOT suited for children. Dogs and ponies are welcome by individual prior arrangement.
